- Provide exemplary customer service to residents, guests, visitors, faculty and staff at community desks.
- Serve as resource for accurate information concerning Housing and university operations.
- Support community office staff by performing assigned administrative responsibilities effectively.
- Assist in opening, closing, and transition of residence halls, including early arrivals and late departures, and working during break periods and finals week.
- Support, communicate, enforce and abide by all university and department policies, procedures and regulations.
- Follow appropriate protocols in addressing incidents and potential policy violations.
- Assist community office staff during a crisis or emergency, maintaining confidentiality.
- Participate in all departmental and community training.
- Attend all meeting activities including staff meetings, community staff meetings, and one‑on‑one meetings with supervisor.
- Follow community desk policies and procedures, including key management, equipment check‑out and access control.
- Sort, record, distribute and forward mail, packages and newspapers per USPS regulations and community procedures.
- Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the position as assigned.
- Must be enrolled at least half‑time during semesters (minimum 6 credit hours for undergraduate, 5 for graduate).
- Must be in good standing with Office of Student Conduct and University Housing.
- Student employees are temporary; may be separated at any time without notice.
- Cannot exceed 20 hours per week across all student staff positions unless supervisor permission for non‑class periods.
- Cannot exceed 6 consecutive hours per shift.
- Must be available for at least 8 hours of desk shifts per week, including overnight, weekends, academic breaks, and holidays.
- Required to work during some home football games as required.
