This position provides comprehensive administrative and clerical support for the UGA Peanut Breeding Program. Responsibilities include performing accurate data entry; processing payment requests and purchase orders; managing all email and written correspondence on behalf of Dr. Bill Branch; preparing and typing grant‑related documents; coordinating manuscript submissions; processing gift check deposits; and handling bi‑weekly payroll processing.
Responsibilities- Prepare manuscripts, send for review, and submit manuscripts to journal online systems.
- Input data for analysis; type abstracts, letters, memos, cultivar registrations, grant proposals, and annual plot plans.
- Create Power Points for presentations; print, type, and send emails.
- Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities for assigned faculty, including processing check requests, purchase orders, travel authorizations, expense statements, bi‑weekly payroll, and leave requests.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Experience with People Soft, One Source, and UGAMart is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to quickly learn new software systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic with commitment to accuracy and reliability.
- Lift lightweight materials.
- Sit at a desk for the majority of the work day.
