ScheduleMonday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑4:30 PM. Some night and/or weekend work may be required.
CompensationAdvertised Salary: $34,500
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- Construction experience
- Basic construction practices/techniques, including concrete forming/placement, grading, and jobsite safety.
- Manual labor to support construction activities.
- Operate small machinery (cutoff saws, jack hammers, tamps, etc.) and hand tools.
- Stand, walk, stoop, bend, squat, and lift up to 75 lbs. throughout an 8‑hour work day.
- Perform duties under adverse weather and adverse climate conditions.
- Driving as needed to perform job duties.

Duties / Responsibilities- Assist concrete masons in forming for and placement of concrete (sidewalks, curb cuts, curbing, footers, aprons, etc.) – 25%
- Assist construction operators with earthmoving activities related to utilities (spotting, rough/fine grading, excavation/back filling, tamping) – 25%
- Assist concrete masons and construction operators to establish earthwork gradients for asphalt and concrete placement – 10%
- Operation of construction equipment (compressors, jackhammers, compactors, saws, etc.) and hand tools – 10%
- Perform traffic control measures for road and utility construction and maintenance projects (barricades, cones, signage) – 5%
- Respond to grounds emergencies as they arise to maintain safety of the campus community, including periods of inclement weather – 5%
Support and assistance includes helping to form and place concrete, potholing utilities, serving as a spotter during excavation, assisting in backfill, grading, asphalt placement, and other jobsite activities. Maintain barricades, signage, and perform traffic control. Use hand tools and small machinery such as cutoff saws, jackhammers, tamps, and drills. Perform any other duties as needed. Report during inclement weather to assist with downed tree removal and snow and ice removal.
