The Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (AVDL) at University of Georgia (UGA)’s College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a full‑time Veterinary Clinical Pathologist with a keen interest in and enthusiasm for diagnostic pathology and training. The AVDL is located on UGA’s main campus in Athens, GA, approximately 65 miles northeast of Atlanta. The successful applicant will join a team in the Department of Pathology that includes 22 pathologists (including 4 clinical pathologists), anatomic and clinical pathology residents, research scientists, and graduate students.

This is a twelve‑month faculty position and can be either clinical (non‑tenure) or tenure track with appointment at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor.

• Provide diagnostic clinical pathology services to veterinarians submitting diagnostic specimens to the Athens Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
• Adherence to laboratory quality control/quality assurance program is expected. Contribute to laboratory, college, and university governance through participation on various committees.
• Contribute to the profession through participation in professional organizations and the peer‑review journal process.
• Participate in the teaching of pathology to consulting clinicians, DVM veterinary students, pathology residents, pathology graduate students, and any other interested individuals.
• Participate in collaborative or independent research with UGA faculty and/or faculty at other educational institutions (tenure track).

Candidates must have pathology board certification or be eligible to take the specialty board exam in veterinary clinical pathology, and be eligible to obtain a special faculty veterinary license to practice in Georgia.
