Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is currently recruiting a board-certified Trauma Surgeon Medical Director for our surgicalist program in Athens, Georgia. This position involves clinical duties at our Trauma II facility and offers an excellent opportunity to build a surgical/clinical practice and engage with the medical team at Piedmont Athens and other physician leaders across the system.
The surgicalist team at Piedmont Athens consists of top clinicians seeking a strong leader to continue building the team to provide patients with excellent quality care, as is customary across Piedmont facilities in Georgia.
The ideal candidate will be board certified with at least three years of experience. Trauma and Critical Care expertise is essential. Candidates should be skilled in routine emergency general surgery procedures and acute care surgery. Most procedures are minimally invasive, with some complex cases at our Level II Trauma Center. Piedmont Athens Hospital has an excellent critical care team to assist in ICU patient care, along with other clinical support services.
The work schedule includes a rotation of days/nights shifts on a monthly basis: 7 days on with approximately 12-14-hour shifts, followed by 7 days off. The team comprises six surgicalists and additional APP support. Administrative duties as medical director are manageable to maintain work/life balance and include additional compensation.
