About the College/Unit/Department
The Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC) works in underserved high schools throughout Georgia to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students who attend and complete higher education. We help students find their way to college by placing well-trained, recent college graduates in high schools to work one-on-one with students as they navigate the complex college admissions process.

Additional Schedule Information: Advisers work regular full-time hours during the school year, following the high school/site supervisor’s schedule. Advisers will begin service in their assigned schools upon hire and work until May 31, 2026.
Advertised Salary: $40,800 - 11 months

Minimum Qualifications
The Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC) seeks service-minded recent graduates to lead low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students to college. Advisers will have earned a Bachelor’s degree by July 2025 and will have graduated from high school between 2019 and 2022.

To be successful in the role of college adviser, the following skills are necessary:
Collaborate effectively with others to achieve goals.
Meet deadlines, plan events, and keep track of data and records.
Speak persuasively and tactfully, write professionally, and create multi-media texts such as flyers, presentations, and websites.
Surmount challenges and solve problems creatively, ethically, and diplomatically as they help students navigate the college admissions process.
