Minimum Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Human/Youth Development, Sociology, Education, Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, Recreation, or related area.

Position Summary

This position will provide management and oversight of the County 4-H Program (75%) in cooperation with other staff members. The County 4-H Program is robust and provides a wide variety of educational opportunities for youth. This position will work cooperatively with county 4-H staff and provide oversight, management, and support of the 4‑H program. As necessary, deliver 4‑H programming in a variety of settings including in‑school, after school, and through participation in state and district events.

This position is also responsible for coordinating and delivering Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) (25%) educational program in the geographic area offering programs in nutrition, food safety, parenting, money management and related subject matter areas. This position utilizes the expertise of and works closely with advisory groups, community leaders, public officials and representatives of intended audiences to analyze data, identify needs, and assist in developing educational programs.

This position requires frequent night meetings, some weekend work, and attendance at out‑of‑county meetings. A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable private vehicle for official duty travel are required. Reimbursement for business travel will be provided. Transportation of others including 4‑H Youth and adult clientele is also a common and necessary function of the job. 4‑H competitions, overnight camps, and other events are conducted at district and state levels and necessitate travel and transport of participants.
