Post Doctoral Teaching and Research Associate
Position Summary:
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia seeks to fill two Postdoctoral Teaching and Research Associate positions beginning in August 2026. Each position is funded by the NSF Geometry and Topology Research and Training Group (RTG), and is anticipated to be of two years duration, with summer support, and with the possibility of renewal for a third year. The RTG brings together students and researchers in the three interrelated areas of algebraic geometry, geometric topology, and symplectic geometry;

2.math.uga.edu/ for more information. Due to the requirements of the grant, the position is only open to US citizens and permanent residents. Teaching duties are two courses per year. In addition, postdocs are expected to participate in the research life of the Department, including the pursuit of an original research program.
- Conduct original research in mathematics, closely related to the focus of the RTG.
- Teach two university‑level courses per year.
- Participate in the research life of the Department, contributing to scholarly activities and cultivating collaborative relationships.
- Ph.D. (or equivalent foreign degree) in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in conducting significant research in algebraic geometry, geometric topology, symplectic geometry, or related areas.
- Strong teaching aptitude with potential for delivering high‑quality university mathematics instruction.
