Position Summary
This position is a critical position that will provide workplace safety, operational, computer related and equipment training to 120+ employees in the Grounds Department. This incumbent will prepare training documents and lesson plans related to operational, workplace safety issues, equipment maintenance/preventative maintenance issues, and other related safety topics. This incumbent will log training documentation for all employees and conduct refresher courses as needed.
Knowledge,Skills, Abilities and Competencies
- Knowledge of and the ability to use training methodology, time management skills, and organizational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate, present, and teach effectively in front of groups.
- Ability to operate audio visual equipment.
- Ability to develop teaching material utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (including Power Point, Word, Excel, and Translator), Adobe Photoshop, etc.
- Knowledge of landscape and hardscape maintenance and operations.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, and climb stairs during a normal workday.
- Read/communicate effectively.
- Driving to perform job related duties.
Conduct training classes as part of the Grounds Academy, individualized training curriculum, and/or refresher training for probationary and existing staff. Facilitate ELDT training program and new employee orientation. Prepare training documents/master lesson plans related to operational, workplace safety issues, equipment maintenance/preventative maintenance issues, and other related safety topics. Use of visual equipment and other instructional media for classroom exercises. Use of PEP.
Data entry of training records in Word documents/spreadsheets and electronic systems. Prepare monthly/annual training reports. Coordinate and make changes to training curriculum. Prepare/document training records of personnel. Manage filing systems to include training records, training lesson plans, etc. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications- At least 2 years teaching at high school, technical school or in an adult learning environment or related area
