Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.

Position Summary

The County Extension Educator is an exempt professional staff role with UGA Cooperative Extension responsible for managing the many resources offered by a county office. The position coordinates and distributes time as needed for the satisfactory delivery of the 4‑H and FACS (Family and Consumer Science) county programs. A high level of independent judgment is required to effectively carry out essential duties, and the incumbent is expected to manage both Extension program administration and 4‑H/FACS education delivery by developing techniques and procedures as appropriate.

The role is supervised by the county‑assigned 4‑H agent, FACS agent, and County Extension Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Good communication skills – oral and written.
  • Ability to work with various populations.
  • Knowledge of Cooperative Extension 4‑H program activities.
Physical Demands
  • Some physical activity, including lifting, is needed to conduct programs (e.g., handling animals, supplies, and demonstration materials, audio/visual equipment, etc.).
  • Some standing and/or sitting for various lengths of time.
  • Must withstand various seasonal weather conditions for outside activities.
