About the College/Unit/Department: This part-time position requires academic mentors to meet with student-athletes weekly during regularly scheduled sessions to foster academic independence and encourage self-regulated learning.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized instruction in the areas of time management, organization, note-taking, studying, and test-taking strategies, all within the scope of UGA, SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations, while maintaining a supportive environment (70%).
  • File reports on each session and communicate regularly and in a timely manner with Academic Counselors and Support Staff, in accordance with departmental policies (25%).
  • Attend mandatory trainings/meetings (5%).
Position Summary

Assist student-athletes in their academic endeavors by providing supplemental support.

Academic mentors to meet with student-athletes weekly during regularly scheduled sessions to foster academic independence and encourage self-regulated learning. Pay is $15 per 1-hour mentor session.
