Position Title
Clinical Science Educator – Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor – UGA School of Medicine, Athens, GA.
Job SummaryThe University of Georgia School of Medicine seeks an experienced faculty member to serve as a medical educator, teaching across all four years of the undergraduate medical curriculum in clinical skills, community and population health, simulation, and large/small group facilitation. The role may include curriculum leadership and outpatient clinical care, with a primary appointment at UGA and an adjunct appointment with Augusta University Medical College of Georgia.
Key Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate medical education (clinical skills, community & population health, simulation, large group learning, small group facilitation). Estimated 80% of time.
- Serve as curriculum leader as needed.
- Provide patient care and teaching in a school‑based clinic or community public health clinic at least one day per week.
- Participate in educational research or other scholarly endeavors (10% time).
- Serve on department or university committees; assist in academic advising and mentoring (10% time).
- MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
- Board Certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties. For recent graduates, certification expected within five years.
- Unrestricted medical license in Georgia, appropriate hospital credentials & privileges, and unrestricted DEA license.
- Background or certification in primary care specialties.
- Experience in U.S. medical education, case‑based and active learning methods.
- Commitment to educational research or scholarly activities.
