Position Overview
Join to apply for the Clinch County 4‑H Educator role at the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences
, Clifton, Georgia.
- Teach 4‑H educational learning programs in the classroom.
- Direct 4‑Hers in preparation for competitive events, including project achievement and judging.
- Arrange transportation for 4‑Hers to district and state events and provide leadership at those events.
- Use program evaluation results and feedback to plan future programs and improve delivery.
- Publicize programs and workshops to local and nearby county clients.
- Maintain office inventory of supplies and materials supporting the 4‑H program.
- Participate in staff conferences, share ideas with coworkers, leaders, district staff, and specialists to promote teamwork.
- Utilize current research data on emerging issues in program development and teaching as mandated by GA 4‑H.
- Conduct in‑school club meetings and deliver curriculum that meets state (Georgia Professional Standards) guidelines.
- Recruit, train, and help supervise 4‑H volunteers in planning, teaching, and evaluating Extension programs.
- Assist volunteers in completing the 4‑H Chaperone Training.
- Manage volunteer‑led programs such as the Archery Team, Horse Club, BB Team, and Livestock Show Teams with assistance from the 4‑H Agent and County Coordinator.
- Make reports to staff, Board of Education, Board of Commissioners, and public officials via electronic mass media, personal contacts, and group meetings.
- Submit accurate and complete reports on GA Counts, 4‑H enrollment, and the District office.
- Perform duties in accordance with the UGA Cooperative Extension Equal Opportunity plan, ensuring materials are accessible to all without regard to protected status.
- Assist with day‑to‑day operations of the county office: answering phone, processing mail, distributing publications, greeting visitors, filing documents, etc.
- Attend 4‑H events as assigned by the 4‑H Agent, County Coordinator, or District Personnel.
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead 4‑H Agent and County Coordinator.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Cooperative Extension 4‑H program activities.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of Cooperative Extension 4‑H program activities.
- Some physical activity, including lifting, is needed to conduct programs (e.g., handling animals, supplies, demonstration materials, audio/visual equipment).
- Some standing and/or sitting for various lengths of time.
- Withstand seasonal weather conditions for outside activities.
- Driving as needed to perform job duties.
