Position: Program Support Specialist (18C)

Position Summary

The Program Support Specialist is a temporary, part‑time position (20 hours per week) that provides administrative and logistical support for community‑focused programs and events in the Lamar Dodd School of Art. The role reports to the Associate Director of Curriculum and collaborates with faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure successful delivery of programs including:

  • UGA Summer Art Camp for high school students
  • UGA Community Art School classes for adult learners
  • Manual Dexterity Certificate workshops for pre‑professional students
  • Assistance with departmental events such as graduation ceremonies and special receptions
  • Support for School of Art curriculum office operations including room reservations, course scheduling, and student registration
  • Position ends on May 31, 2026
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate communications, recruitment, registration, and scheduling for camps, classes, and workshops.
  • Maintain participant records.
  • Assure compliance with University policies and safety protocols.
  • Support event logistics (space reservations, room setup, materials preparation).
  • Serve as primary contact for program inquiries.
  • Assist with marketing efforts (social media updates, flyers, website content).
  • Provide on‑site support during events and classes.
  • Collaborate on Curriculum Office initiatives.
Qualifications

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification:

  • College degree.

Preferred:

  • Experience in arts administration or community programming.
  • Familiarity with UGA systems and policies.
  • Experience as an artist, art educator, or art scholar.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and

Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical Demands
  • Move materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours needed for events.
