Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of UGA's Academic Advising Certificate Program preferred.
  • Experience working with SAGE , Degree works, Athena, and other advising software utilized by the University of Georgia/ USG institutions.
Position Summary

This Academic Advisor II position within UGA's College of Engineering supports incoming and current Engineering undergraduate students in their academic pursuits. The Academic Advisor II position:

  • Advises students, providing targeted support related to student decision-making, exploration, and development.
  • Develops strategies for enhancing rapport with students and campus partners.
  • Maintains accurate records and utilizes existing records to inform advising practice.
  • Speaks knowledgeably about campus resources and makes proactive and direct referrals based on individual students' situations, needs, and interests.
  • Intentionally manages time and calendar to ensure accessibility to students.
