Duties / Responsibilities
  • Model and monitor storm-water and floodplain systems, natural infrastructure, and water quantity and quality in mixed land use watersheds. (25%)
  • Inform and participate in the development of communication and outreach materials. (20%)
  • Assist in the development of design guidance for natural infrastructure systems. (15%)
  • Support the development and delivery of short course, undergraduate, and graduate curricular materials centered on natural infrastructure and Engineering With Nature. (15%)
  • Co-author journal manuscripts and research reports for project sponsors and oral presentations of research to sponsors and at scientific meetings. (15%)
  • Communicate regularly and in a timely fashion with the PI regarding research and other issues relevant to the operation of coastal laboratories. (10%)

Position Summary

The College of Engineering wishes to appoint a Post-Doctoral Associate to work on grant funded research projects for a period of 1 year with additional employment dependent on the needs of the project. In this role they will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Brian Bledsoe, Professor and Director of the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems (IRIS), at the College of Engineering’s School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural and Mechanical Engineering.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists at the University of Georgia who are engaged in cooperative research projects in IRIS.
