Auxiliary Accounting Student Analyst

Position for a Tull School MAcc graduate student to support the review and audit of general ledger details, perform reconciliations, and assist with month-end close activities.

Special Instructions for Applicants

This position is specifically for the Tull School MAcc graduate student in a student worker role.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • General ledger reviews for various accounts (depreciation expense, salaries/fringe benefit expense, FMD charges including utilities and other direct charges) – 30% of time.
  • Assistance and maintenance of monthly financial analysis review, including fluctuations (actuals vs. budgets, current year actuals vs. prior year actuals) – 30% of time.
  • Perform reconciliations for accounts (prepaids, inventory, unearned revenue) and assist with journal entry initiation, adjustments, corrections, reclassifications – 20% of time.
  • Validate and verify monthly financial statements (progress reports) and other financial reports – 15% of time.
  • Conduct and document camera/cash audits as assigned – 5% of time.
Position Details

Title: Student Assistant

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

FTE: 0.47

Minimum Qualifications: Current student in the Tull School MAcc graduate program.

Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification: Accounting/Finance or related business field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

Proficient, effective, and clear writing and communication skills.

Physical Demands

Sitting for long periods using a computer.
