Brooklet, Georgia, is a small town in Bulloch County with a rich history. Brooklet, GA operates under a Council – City Manager form of government. The City Council acts as a legislative body and is responsible for policy making and budget approval.

The City Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the city, overseeing the hiring and management of department heads, ensuring procedures and policies are in place for efficient local government operation, and playing a key role in the annual budget preparation and communication of the city’s financial condition to elected officials. The City Manager should have experience and display competency in overseeing municipal finances.

The City Manager also represents the city in interactions with citizens, business owners, other government entities, and key outside stakeholders. This person is a spokesperson for the city and is expected to be involved in the community.

The successful candidate needs to be a leader, be progressive‑minded in both management and leadership style, understand the importance of partnership with the Council, key staff, and the community, and be prepared to move the city forward.

  • Knowledgeable in developing and managing the municipal budget to include the capital and utilities budget and the preparation of short- and long-term strategic plans
  • Resourceful problem solver
  • Understands the importance of transparency in government and the need to be involved with all segments of the community
  • Always embodies integrity and is focused on the city’s best interest
Salary

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000.
