The team lead will oversee graduate and undergraduate research assistants during family‑facing research visits that occur in participant homes, public spaces, and the BIRC center team lead will ensure proper adherence to protocols, maintain family rapport during field visits, and report directly to the research coordinator, center coordinator, and principal investigators as needed. This is a grant‑funded position expected to continue through approximately 2028;
extension beyond this period is contingent upon the availability of continued funding.
- Lead research visits, including home drop‑offs of materials and consent procedures, home visits for study participation, and visits at the BIRC center on UGA's campus – 50%
- Meet with research teams weekly to review problem cases, protocol questions, and other issues; meet with project leadership to discuss overall progress and process; provide updates to center leadership on ongoing tasks and the overall progress of data collection – 20%
- Lead and monitor data collection during visits, even when not present, as well as offloading data collected post‑visit – 10%
- Communicate with families to prepare for visits, answer questions, ensure informed consent, troubleshoot equipment, etc. – 10%
- Organize URAs to assist with visit preparation, complete visit preparation as needed; manage supply use and place request orders to replenish visit materials – 10%
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully both orally and in written form.
- Experience working with school‑age and early adolescent children in research and pseudo‑medical settings.
- Able to follow standardized research procedures and monitor others in real‑time for protocol adherence.
- Can competently manage schedules of multiple RA employees, ensuring adequate covering for research visits.
- Understands how and when flexibility within visits can be granted to ensure participant comfort while adhering to research best practices and project protocols.
Lift research equipment, no more than 10 pounds. Sit at computer as needed.
Special InstructionsThis is a grant‑funded position. While the continuation of funding and employment is anticipated, it is not guaranteed.
