Night Auditor I

The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is hiring a Night Auditor for full‑time operations. The position is non‑exempt and requires a high‑school diploma or equivalent.

Position Summary

The Night Auditor performs an audit of the business day’s transactions, running daily reports, checking for accuracy, auditing all payment types, completing end‑of‑day reports, and rolling the posting date to the next business day. In addition, the Night Auditor fulfills all traditional Front Desk Clerk duties: checking guests in and out, tendering sales from the retail outlet, making and confirming reservations, answering telephone calls, responding to guest requests, entering maintenance work orders, preparing shift reports, and training relief auditors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit front desk daily transactions, reviewing reports for accuracy and adherence to financial procedures.
  • Make necessary corrections and adjustments, compile summary reports of daily transactions with key trends or discrepancies.
  • Complete end‑of‑day reports, post room charges, run backups, and roll posting date to next business day.
  • Serve as manager on duty: learn safety and security procedures, handle guest issues, communicate with hotel staff, and coordinate with security vendor if needed.
  • Check guests in/out, manage reservations, address maintenance work orders, and respond to telephone and other guest communications.
  • Maintain training materials, mentor relief auditors, and participate in training sessions and departmental meetings.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to work well without direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with excellent customer‑service skills.
Working Conditions
  • 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday.
  • Must be available to work any day of the week during the third shift (11 pm – 7 am).
  • Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds, standing and sitting at a desk for extended periods, walking and climbing stairs.
Other Requirements
  • Position is a trust role with direct access to financial resources.
  • Credit check required; background investigation with criminal and credit checks.
