Schedule: Full‑time, on‑site position based in Athens, Georgia. Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
Salary: $56,000 – 66,000 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in employee relations with a focus on workplace investigations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Judgment and discretion for handling sensitive matters.
The Workforce Engagement Investigator leads investigations into human resources policy violations and workplace issues across the University. The role requires confidentiality, discretion, and compliance with University policies and applicable federal and state laws.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to apply relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Significant desk work and computer use.
- Driving to other UGA campuses outside the Athens area.
Investigator (50%):
- Plan, conduct, and manage impartial investigations of complaints of employee misconduct, policy violations, retaliation, and other workplace issues.
- Ensure investigations are conducted promptly, thoroughly, and fairly.
- Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive investigation reports that summarize findings, analyze evidence, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of all investigative activities, including interview notes, evidence, and investigative steps.
Consultant (30%):
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Serve as consultant for facilitating workplace inquiries and concerns, working with EEO, Legal Affairs, and other offices to resolve issues.
- Assist in developing and delivering training on employee relations topics.
Compliance (20%):
- Apply relevant laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Prepare or maintain employment records related to progressive discipline, terminations, demotions, suspensions, and policy violations.
