Position Summary

The Coordinator of Student Information Systems is responsible for managing the services related to district-wide information systems, including both student and business management. This role involves creating and customizing various reports for internal and external use, responding to requests for data and reports, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of district databases, and providing essential data for state reporting purposes to school and district staff.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field preferred
Certification / License
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint
  • Background Clearance
  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License
Work Experience
  • Experience or knowledge of school administrative procedures, state reporting, and administrative software applications preferred
  • Leadership or supervision experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Skills-based Competencies
  • Experience in education (higher ed or K-12) and/or data analysis
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization tools (highly desired)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and Access
  • Proficiency with SQL or other data query languages (highly desired)
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Python, R, SAS, SPSS
  • Experience with Visual Tools, MS Report Builder or other Paginated Report creation tools

Essential Duties
  • Conducts orientation and in-service training for individuals and departments to support and maximize data user capabilities.
  • Designs and develops queries and reports across district systems to meet specific data requests.
  • Evaluates and responds to support requests from internal and external sources, ensuring timely delivery of information.
  • Maintain and organize documents and records for accurate reference and audit trails.
  • Prepares written materials such as documentation and data file layouts for clear communication and record-keeping.
  • Research data sources and reporting techniques to improve productivity, data security, and recommend suitable products.
  • Responds to inquiries for data extraction and information to resolve issues and provide necessary details.
  • Monitors state reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate transmission of required information.
  • Supports SIS software testing, upgrades, and maintenance projects, ensuring system reliability and data integrity.
  • Ensures SIS supports all reporting requirements, particularly state data collections and external/internal reporting needs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
