Web Operations Specialist – Department of Advancement IT – University of Georgia – Athens, GA
Position SummaryReporting to the Associate Director of Application Development, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, testing, documenting, and supporting a variety of new and existing Development & Alumni Relations (DAR) web solutions supported by the Advancement IT department. Responsibilities include planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and help‑desk support for solutions such as online donation pages, event registration pages, custom web applications, click‑to‑configure solutions, and content‑management‑system support.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
- At least one year of experience in creation and maintenance of websites and/or web applications.
- Experience working with a Content Management System, such as Word Press, and donation plugins like GiveWP and a hosting provider like Pantheon.
- Exposure to MVC framework, such as Laravel.
- Create and modify websites utilizing technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, Content Management Systems, PHP, MySQL, and other similar technologies in accordance with UGA and DAR policies.
- Collaborate with site administrators and user groups to develop, test, and deploy CMS configurations to meet functional and security requirements.
- Lead efforts to ensure CMS plugins on DAR sites remain updated; identify any no longer supported and replace or remove them.
- Promote UGA’s fundraising efforts through the division’s fundraising system (currently Blackbaud CRM and BBIS) by creating and maintaining online donation forms and event registration pages.
- Interact with clients and stakeholders to troubleshoot problems with existing applications and provide training on developed products.
- Research and explore advances in related technology and best practices.
- Communicate with fairness, compassion, and decency with staff, supervisors, and colleagues.
- Adhere to CASE standards and industry standards for fundraising reporting.
$57,200+ commensurate with qualifications and experience.
LocationAthens, GA – Faculty and staff may be required to travel within or outside the state.
