Academic Professional Associate and Facilities Manager

Position located in Athens, GA, within UGA College of Environment and Design (CED). This contract (12‑month) professional rank position reports to the CED Dean and collaborates with UGA facilities and procurement units. Responsibilities span facilities planning, procurement, data analysis and teaching (up to 3 courses).

Position Summary

Directly oversee and coordinate facilities planning, procurement, administration, and data analysis for CED. Manage building renovation, maintenance, asset removal, and space utilization. Liaise with UGA facilities, Office of University Architects, and IT. Provide leadership, analysis, and teaching as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management – project management of renovations, repairs, equipment installations; budget development; represent CED on building safety and security committees.
  • Procurement – manage college spending requests; develop and oversee procurement budget.
  • Data Analysis – conduct space utilization studies, create reports, support strategic planning.
  • Instruction – teach up to 3 classes or 10 credit hours annually.
Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in landscape architecture, architecture, construction management, environmental planning and design, or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred; non‑terminal degree must demonstrate exceptional accomplishments and be approved for terminal exception.
  • 5–10 years of experience in facilities, procurement or related field; 1–3 years of teaching experience.
  • Strong analytical, project management, communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of UGA building design standards, procurement regulations and higher education facilities codes.
