Cardiac Acute Care Services - Nurse Practitioner​/Physician Assistant Athens Regional

Overview

Piedmont Athens Regional is recruiting for a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join Cardiac Acute Care Services. This is a full-time position and will include a night call, weekend, and holiday rotation.

• Ambulatory care responsibilities include outpatient independent cardiology follow up and new patient clinics, with reports progress to a supervising physician.
• Establish treatment plans for a wide range of cardiac problems and educate patients on diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explain necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients, family, and staff.
• Inpatient responsibilities include evaluating and treating cardiology patients in an inpatient setting.
• Take patient history, conduct physical examinations, and record data in the patient record.
• Develop treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians and other APPs.
• Order and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients.
• Proctor nuclear stress tests and work alongside physicians and APPs in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• PA:
  Graduate of a Physician Assistant program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board.
• NP:
  Graduate from a school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Masters degree in Nursing.
