The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the life cycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The staff nurse operates within the organization’s policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, maintains standards of practice, and coordinates patient care activities among the assigned staff to provide quality nursing care.

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the life cycle.
• Utilize nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Operate within the framework of the organization’s policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate professional growth and accountability.
• Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff.

• Graduate from a nursing program – Required
• Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred

• No experience required; new graduates from a nursing program eligible – Required
• Nursing experience in a hospital setting – Preferred
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions – Required

• RN – Registered Nurse – Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure (Current License in the State of Georgia or NLC/eNCL Multistate License) – Required
• BCLS – Basic Life Support – Required

• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable

• Cardiac Tele: ACLS – Required within 180 days of start date.
• Critical Care: ACLS – Required within 180 days.
• Dialysis: CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) – Preferred.
• Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS – Required within 180 days (PALS completion within 6 months for nurses new to specialty).
• Infusion/Oncology:
  Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification before independent chemotherapy – Required upon hire.
• Pediatrics:
  Identify high-risk situations; PALS or PEARS or PALS – Required within 180 days.
• Surgical Services:
  Pre Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients – Required within 180 days.
• Women’s Services:
  Labor and Delivery‑ACLS; NRP and AWHONN, etc. – Required within 180 days.
