Shift: Full‑time nights and weekend option, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Sign‑on bonus available.
OverviewThe surgery unit has 29 beds. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical, trauma and a variety of medical patients. Surgeries typically involve the neck to the gut, including GI procedures such as colon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomies and appendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures. Patients may have ostomies, NGTs, feeding tubes and/or drains. Trauma patients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomy and/or other drains, but are stabilized enough for a non‑ICU/step‑down med‑surg floor admission.
We are a level 2 trauma center.

Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
- Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care.
- Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios.
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- New graduates of a nursing program eligible.
- Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
- Advanced certification in a field of specialty, if applicable. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
