• Comply with regulations and company policies; document and maintain animal care, preventive medicine, USDA‑required, and study protocol‑driven records.
• Provide animal husbandry and care, including feed, water, enrichment; maintain, adjust, and repair animal pens, feeders, drinking systems, and handling equipment.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation of animal rooms and equipment; supervise junior team members as delegated.
• Restrain and manipulate animals for routine and emergency procedures; recognize sick or distressed animals and report to veterinarian.
• Conduct daily health and welfare assessments; administer treatments under veterinarian direction.
• Conduct scientific clinical observations, disease outcome assessments, and record all scientific data per protocols.
• Administer and monitor sedation; conduct euthanasia under veterinarian direction and protocols.
• Perform biosecurity functions: water system sanitation, decontamination of bagged feed, etc.; environmental auditing sample collection.
• Assist with clinical R&D sample collection pre‑ and post‑mortem; sample types include blood, feces, swabs, tissues, etc.; assist with necropsies under veterinarian direction.

• Physical:
  Ability to work in extreme environments; heavy lifting up to 70 lbs occasionally. No allergies to animals or livestock/feed dust.
• Visual:
  Ability to read clearly; prescription eyewear allowed.
• Temperament/Mental:
  Maintain calmness around livestock; work quickly in fast‑paced environment; cooperative, systematic thinker with sound judgment.
• Education:
  
  High School diploma or GED.
