Medical Lab Technician II FLSA:

- High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience
- Technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2‑year degree, or professional certificate.
This position will perform basic testing for chemistry, hematology, parasitology, and urinalysis. It will also process and analyze specimens received; calibrate and operate various instrumentation; maintain instrumentation; and provide client and internal team communication.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies- Computer skills required and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally.

- Blood chemistry – Manage specimen integrity for proper testing; follow standard operation protocol and procedures for testing; operational knowledge of instrumentation, and reviewing calibrations, controls and test results (35%)
- Hematology – Routine procedures and maintenance of instrumentation as well as daily operation, quality assurance, read and verify automated differentials, performing manual hematological analyses, entering and reviewing report test data (25%)
- Parasitology – Routine preparation of samples for parasitology test setup and identification (20%)
- Urinalysis – Sample preparation and testing with knowledge of elements of urine sediment (10%)
- Quality control – Implement Quality Control Procedures (5%)
- Clerical – Maintain records (5%)
