Overview
Post Doc of Human Dimensions of Chronic Wasting Disease. This position supports a two-year study funded by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to develop strategies for effective communication and cooperation with landowners, hunters, and other partners to minimize the risk of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in Georgia’s white-tailed deer population. The postdoctoral researcher will design and oversee the study in collaboration with Drs.
D’Angelo and Boley, conduct large-scale surveys, and apply discrete choice modeling to identify appropriate engagement strategies for diverse stakeholder groups.
- Coordinate with research collaborators, design surveys, implement data collection, and perform data analysis.
- Prepare scientific manuscripts and contribute to technical writing for publication.

- PhD in a field closely related to human dimensions of natural resource management (e.g., recreation, tourism, wildlife management).
- Demonstrated expertise in social science research with a strong publication record.
- Experience with survey design, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of findings in scientific venues.
- Develop research questions and study design in collaboration with project co-leads.
- Lead large-scale surveys of landowners and hunters and apply discrete choice modeling to identify engagement strategies.
- Prepare manuscripts and reports; coordinate with collaborators within the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
- Offers contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation, including criminal background check and verification of credentials and employment history. A pre-employment drug test may be required for high-risk positions.
