Position Summary

Team lead will oversee Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs) and Undergraduate Research Assistants (URAs) during family‑facing research visits in participant homes, public spaces, and the BIRC Center  lead ensures protocol adherence, maintains family rapport, reports any field issues to the research coordinator, center coordinator, and principal investigators, and manages scheduling and supplies for the research activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research visits, including home drop‑offs of materials and consent procedures, home visits for study participation, and visits at the BIRC center.
  • Meet weekly with research teams to review problem cases, protocol questions, and other issues.
  • Communicate with families to prepare for visits, answer questions, ensure informed consent, troubleshoot equipment, and maintain rapport.
  • Oversee and monitor data collection during visits, even when absent, and offload data collected post‑visit.
  • Organize URAs to assist with visit preparation; complete visit preparation as needed; manage supply use and place request orders to replenish visit materials.
  • Provide updates to center leadership on ongoing tasks and the overall progress of data collection.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with school‑aged and early adolescent children in research or pseudo‑medical settings.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully both orally and in written form.
  • Ability to follow standardized research procedures and monitor others in real‑time for protocol adherence.
  • Competently manage schedules of multiple RA employees, ensuring adequate coverage for research visits.
  • Understanding of flexibility within visits to ensure participant comfort while adhering to research best practices and project protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant graduate or post‑graduate training in research methods or related fields.
  • Prior experience leading research teams in a social‑science research setting.
Physical Demands

Lift research equipment, no more than 10 pounds; sit at a computer as needed.
