PhD in Chemistry, glycobiology, biochemistry, Molecular biology or related studies.
Position Summary
Assistant Research Scientist position in CCRC's National Glycoscience Resources Laboratory.
- Conduct research for development of new tools and method for structural characterization of glycoproteins and polysaccharides using a of MS, HPLC , HPAEC or NMR techniques and subsequently publish and obtain independent funding.
- Write and edit manuscripts and reviewers on topics in glycoscience to increase the publication output.
- Supervise laboratory technicians, postdocs and research professions in service and research projects that includes characterization of glycoconjugates with collaboration from investigators from outside of UGA .
- Write detailed comprehensive reports on data produced in the laboratory on structural, characterization of polysaccharides and glycoproteins.
- Review reports produced by other laboratory members for accuracy and high quality so that the data can be used in a manuscript publication.
- Teach and organize on the hands-on and virtual training courses offered by the CCRC on glycoconjuagtes with participants from universities, research institutes and government agencies.
- Help organize workshops and tutorials on topics in glycoscience.
Prior expertise in glycobiology, structural characterization of glycoconjugates using analytical techniques and project management and leadership positions.
