- Lead and conduct laboratory research on plant diseases, including media preparation, pathogen isolation, DNA extraction, molecular testing, gel electrophoresis, and purification of samples for long-term storage. (40%)
- Collect soil samples from field, planting, and harvesting crops, maintain field trials, greenhouse plants, cultures, and greenhouse experiments. (30%)
- Extract nematodes from soil samples and enumerate nematode egg populations. (20%)
- Contribute to the preparation of research and extension publications, extension trainings, reports and PowerPoint presentations. (10%)
- Laboratory and greenhouse research experience related to plant science or plant pathology.
- Basic knowledge in scientific and mathematical concepts (e.g., serial dilution, plant physiology, and microbiology).
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Attention to detail, punctuality, and perseverance.
