Preferred Qualifications Position SummaryThis Research Technician position works as part of a dynamic team on the genetics of grasses. In addition to laboratory research, the post‑holder will assist with planting, maintaining, and harvesting of greenhouse and field experiments. The Devos Lab consists of a multinational team of graduate students and post‑docs working under the supervision of and with people of different cultural backgrounds. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in next‑generation library preparation.
This position is grant‑funded for five (5) years. While the continuation of funding and employment is anticipated, it is not guaranteed.

- Conducting and analyzing experiments in the laboratory, the greenhouse, and the field.
- Laboratory work: data entry of data into spreadsheets, data sorting, processing, and reporting using spreadsheets, documents, or presentation formats. Lab organization and maintenance. Assure essential supplies are available in the lab at all times. Order basic chemicals, fertilizers, pots, and other supplies. Prepare solutions and media. Collect samples.
- Day‑to‑day operation of research greenhouses including basic repairs.
- Fieldwork at research sites, collect samples, deliver samples to the lab, install field equipment. Research data analysis and initial interpretation of results. Determine the next steps based on results.
- Growing and harvesting plant material: watering and fertilizing crops and coordinating maintenance with facilities management as needed. Research plant establishment, care, and maintenance.
- General laboratory duties including organizing and washing.
Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
Salary$25,175 - $37,500; commensurate with experience and qualifications.
