Position SummaryThis position is funded as part of the NSF Biofoundry project to develop large language models for biological sequence analysis. The candidate will develop and fine‑tune protein language models for glycoenzyme classification, engineering, and function prediction, and work closely with other project personnel to test predictions generated from large language models. The candidate will also provide written reports of project updates and develop course materials for user training.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- 70% Familiar with state‑of‑the‑art machine learning techniques (e.g., protein language models, representation learning, diffusion models, and self‑supervised learning) and develop/fine‑tune protein language models for proteomics and biological sequence analysis.
- 10% Train graduate and undergraduate students working on the project.
- 20% Develop materials for user training and assist with summer workshops on AI and glycobiology; other duties as assigned.
- Assist in writing annual project reports and developing materials for user and graduate student training.
