Position SummaryThe postdoctoral researcher will study Hpo1, its interactions with other patterning proteins and its localization using super-resolution and immunogold electron microscopy.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe sought postdoctoral researcher will use genetic screens, bioinformatics and microscopy-based approaches to discover and study novel genes products that contribute to the mechanisms of intracellular pattern formation. The researcher will use the genetic model protist Tetrahymena thermophila. New components of the pathway will be identified using genetic suppressor screens.
Required EducationA Ph.D. in Cell Biology, or Developmental Biology or Genetics.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAn ideal candidate would be a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with expertise in molecular biology, genetics and microscopy-based imaging.
