Position is based at the Burton 4‑H Center on Tybee Island and involves food preparation, serving, and cleaning the food service areas. Employees work under direct supervision while engaging in the preparation of food, serving, and cleaning.

Requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

• High level of activity in a hot kitchen
• Prolonged standing
• Lifting up to 25‑50 pounds

• Serve food at the dining hall; set up buffet lines and serve individual plates; interact with customers ranging from young children to senior citizens (35% of time)
• Clean and sanitize the work area, operate a commercial dishwasher; clean chairs, tables, and service lines; sweep and mop floors; clean windows, baseboards, blinds; walkways and walls of food service building (20% of time)
• Assist cooks in preparing and cooking food; assist with preparation of menu items (20% of time)
• Other tasks as assigned (10% of time)
