Purpose:
The Sales Specialist helps people explore the world of beer by building the Creature Comforts Brewing Co. brand throughout the Central and Upstate regions of South Carolina. By partnering with distributors, retailers, consumers, and the community while focusing on effective wholesaler management, they will grow CCBC share of mind and market.
- Maintaining Freshness Standards in Market:
Ensure all products in the market meet company freshness standards. Regularly inspect retail and distribution points to verify product quality. Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to address any issues related to product freshness. - In-Market Program Execution & Merchandising:
Execute marketing and sales programs in the market to drive product visibility and sales. Implement merchandising strategies to enhance product presentation and appeal. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of in-market programs and merchandising efforts. - Retail and Distributor Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and distributors. Negotiate terms and agreements to optimize product placement and sales opportunities. Provide ongoing support and communication to retail and distributor partners. - On & Off Premise Distribution Gains/Management:
Identify and secure new on-premises (bars, restaurants) and off-premises (retail stores) distribution opportunities. Manage existing distribution channels to ensure consistent product availability and sales growth. Analyze market trends and sales data to inform distribution strategies. - Consumer Education & Engagement/Events:
Plan and execute consumer engagement events to promote brand awareness and product knowledge. Educate consumers about product features, benefits, and brand story through various channels. Gather consumer feedback and insights to inform marketing and sales strategies.
- Minimum of 1 year of sales experience preferred, with familiarity in the Central and Upstate SC markets.
- Experience in some aspect of the three-tier system or customer service industry preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License for the state where work is performed and a clean driving record.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work independently or within a team to accomplish goals; strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results.
- Strong judgment and professional maturity.
- Ability and willingness to travel; some overnight travel required, not expected to exceed 25% of total work time; travel and lodging expenses covered.
- Willing to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to move 155 lb. keg to a two-wheeler and secure, and lift it onto another keg (stacking safely).
- Must wheel double stacked kegs up to 100 feet, carry 55 lbs in each hand 100 feet, and carry 155 lb. keg up one stair.
- Must be able to push/pull weights up to 50 lbs. and maintain grip strength to carry 30 lb. cases.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs for loading tents, tables, beer, etc.
- Demonstrate ability to climb, kneel, crawl, twist, squat, and reach overhead. The position requires frequent standing and walking.
