Position SummaryCollects stink bugs and bees at field sites using plant scouting and trapping techniques to monitor population dynamics and diversity of these insects in wildflowers, cotton, and other habitats. Washes collected bees to collect pollen for DNA studies and then pins the bees. Deploys and retrieves stink bug egg masses in various stink bug host plants in these habitats. Maintains wildflower plots by mowing grass, de‑weeding, and watering.
Helps plant wildflowers in field plots. Responsible for general maintenance of vehicles (pumping gas and keeping clean) and field and laboratory tools and equipment.
- Assists with field and lab activities related to monitoring insect populations and maintaining research plots, including collecting specimens, preparing samples, and supporting general plot upkeep. (90% of time)

- Knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies:
Able to work independently. - Physical demands:
Driving, standing, bending, and able to withstand outdoor elements. - Willingly drive (required).
