Position Summary
This position is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing commercial kitchen equipment, performing general building maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance for equipment and dining facilities. The role will be assigned daily work orders by the Maintenance Foreman and will maintain service reports. It may submit work orders to Facilities Management Division for tasks beyond scope.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen equipment utilizing schematics and manuals.
- Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on all commercial kitchen equipment.
- Complete and maintain service reports and parts order forms.
- Perform a wide variety of mechanical and building trade tasks including plumbing, electrical work, painting, simple construction and fabrication.
- Assist with special projects for building and equipment maintenance.
- Participate in training sessions and departmental meetings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training.
- Basic plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance skills.
- Troubleshooting skills for commercial kitchen equipment using schematic and manuals.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Climb stairs and ladders; bend at waist and knees; work with arms overhead; use hand tools and power tools; lift and move items of 75 pounds; operate vehicle as necessary.
