We are looking for a dependable, detail‑oriented technician to install and troubleshoot broadband, voice, video, and data services for residential customers. The role is entry‑level but offers clear progression through training, certifications, and safety requirements.
Job SummaryResponsible for broadband installation and troubleshooting activities. Performs field assessments, meets company standards and metrics, and completes necessary certifications. Works under minimal supervision, with increasing proficiency and decreasing oversight as performance improves. Successful completion of required training and safety prerequisites is essential for continued employment.
CompensationBase pay: $18.20/hr + quarterly bonuses. Includes a comprehensive benefits package effective Day 1 (Health, Dental, Vision, etc.), 21 paid days off + 8 company holidays, and heavily discounted cable services.
Core Responsibilities- Perform installations and changes of service while adhering to company procedures, safety practices, and applicable code requirements.
- Handle service calls, troubleshoot signal drops, and design basic home networks using coaxial cable, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, and MoCA.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and customer account updates.
- Ensure quality of service by reviewing test results and adjusting installations as needed.
- Plan Wi‑Fi installations, determine device placement, and educate customers on optimal usage.
- Communicate product details and service information to customers in a clear, friendly manner.
- Keep vehicle and equipment clean, stocked, and ready for daily use.
- Report vehicle or equipment issues, accidents, injuries, or property damage to supervisors.
- Reconcile delivered CPE with warehouse inventory.
- Operate and maintain installation tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Maintain required licenses or background checks as required.
- Apply sound judgment to problem solving, project management, and decision making.
- Perform high‑risk work such as pole or roof installations with proper safety gear.
- Lift and carry loads up to 70 lbs., work in confined spaces, and operate near power lines.
- Drive company vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
- Meet or exceed performance metrics and maintain regular attendance.
- Work nights, weekends, and overtime as required, including variable schedules.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
