Job Summary

The UPP Coordinator will recruit students for the child welfare training program. Develop, train, and deploy field instructors to assure high quality field education experiences. Provide classroom instruction equivalent to OCWTP Caseworker Core and create linkages between classroom learning and activities that complement or augment field placement. Assess student learning needs and professional interests in public child welfare and provide supportive/advising services to UPP program students.

Conduct regularly scheduled PCSA field placement site visits and assist UPP students with job preparation and job placement upon graduation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, screen, select, and orient students to the child welfare training program.
  • Establish partnerships with Public Children Service Agencies (PCSA) in SE Ohio.
  • Develop an evaluation plan to determine each student’s progress and success in mastering learning objectives.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled PCSA field placement site visits.
  • Assist graduating students in finding employment in child service agencies.
  • Maintain student tracking and reporting requirements for students who have completed their one‑ or two‑year commitment.
  • Provide classroom instruction of the equivalent OCWTP Caseworker Core.
  • Provide linkage between classroom learning and activities that complement or augment field placement.
  • Attend Beginning Casework Core (Training on Content) by the State Training Vendor.
  • Meet with course instructors to incorporate new training into the master syllabus.
  • Participate in the OCWTP University Partnership Program work team, including meetings with other coordinators for program evaluations, strategic planning, and updates on statewide initiatives related to onboarding new universities and developing action plans for the program.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work and five or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Ohio.
  • At least three years’ experience working in CPS/Child Welfare in Ohio and knowledge of the UPP Program.
