Club Manager
- Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within the time frames required by the company and maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.
- Obtain Tanning Certification within the required time frame.
- Attend occasional off-site meetings.
The Assistant Manager works closely with the Club Manager to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification and maintain physical ability to administer CPR.
- Obtain Tanning Certification.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high‑performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
- Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
- Schedule and supervise staff.
- Oversee member service to ensure a superior customer experience.
- Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues.
- Participate in all front‑desk related activities including:
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
- Check members in.
- Facilitate new member sign‑up.
- Take prospective members on tours.
- Respond to all member requests, issues and concerns.
- Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Order supplies using the club’s budget.
- Track statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
- Provide backup support for any employee who is absent.
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness.
- Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
- Hardworking, enthusiastic, and energetic.
- Strong problem‑resolution skills.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Work is performed in an indoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, and cleaning chemicals.
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods, to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements; to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weight (up to 50 lbs); to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate in person or on the phone. Must maintain physical ability to administer CPR.
