Overview

RN - Emergency Services - PRN position available. PRN status / as needed schedule.

Starr Regional Medical Center

• Provides for the individual rights of the patients.
• Directs / provides for the appropriate assessment and re-assessment of patients.
• Plans and provides appropriate nursing care based on the individual patient's assessed needs.
• Provides healthcare education to patients and / or families.
• Provides continuity of care by enlisting the services of other healthcare team members.
• Manages patient's care to ensure patient and environmental safety and to minimize risk to the patient, family, and the organization.
• Manages time and supplies effectively.
• Communicates and documents pertinent information to all appropriate individuals in the continuum of care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals.
• Demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA regulations.
• Demonstrates proper triage of patient's based on established guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge/ skills necessary to care for trauma patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge of caring for deceased patients / DOA.
• Demonstrates knowledge / skills of assisting with moderate sedation.
• Demonstrates knowledge / skills of administering blood products.
• Demonstrates knowledge / skills of casting / splinting applications.
• Demonstrates recognition of interpretation of arrhythmia's.
• Demonstrates knowledge of CDC protocols
• Demonstrates knowledge / skills of code blue protocols
• Demonstrates knowledge / skills of adverse drug reaction protocols.

• Emergencyexperience preferred
• Must have BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications
• Graduate of Accredited RN Nursing Educational Program
• RNLicensure in the State of Tennessee required
