Volunteer Coordinator PRN

Compensation: $17.50/hr – $21.25/hr depending on experience. The Volunteer Coordinator provides support to the hospice interdisciplinary team through office functions and focuses on recruiting, retaining, and managing volunteers to enhance the quality of patient and family life.

• Develop effective recruitment strategies and increase visibility of the Caris Healthcare Volunteer Program within the community.
• Provide training, orientation, and oversight to Caris Healthcare volunteers.
• Assign volunteers to meet program needs, volunteer interests, and skills.
• Arrange volunteer meetings for support, ongoing training, problem solving, and community engagement.
• Complete social assessments with patients and caregivers to enhance quality of life.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and development of the patient plan of care.
• Coordinate bereavement interventions and community outreach.

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social science (preferred).
• One (1) year of experience in a related field and volunteer activity (preferred).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficient computer and technology skills.
