American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring ACLS and BLS certifications in a Level 3 trauma facility.

• Medical/Surgical unit within an acute care hospital, Level 3 trauma facility
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, no pediatrics
• Common diagnoses include pneumonia, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical care, electrolyte imbalances, and DVT
• Patient ratio of 6:1 with a current max patient load of 18, increasing to 24
• Utilizes bladder scanners, glucometers, and other standard med/surg equipment
• Uses Medhost EHR system
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• No floating required

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 1+ years of RN experience required
• Critical care thinking skills preferred
• Tennessee Abuse Registry clearance required prior to start

• Provide medical/surgical nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a variety of acute conditions
• Reports to the Director of Med Surg/ICU
• Facility is part of a 2-hospital system offering emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services
• Collaborative team environment described as family-oriented
• Scrubs of any color accepted; casual attire not permitted
• Must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Not eligible if previously employed as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time during the assignment
