UT Health Athens is a 127‑bed facility, including a 24‑hour emergency department, Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, 10‑bed ICU, maternity unit, radiotherapy center and a stand‑alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

• Assists patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs.
• Observes patient progress and reports to the RN or other medical staff.
• Collects vitals and specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures intake and output, assists with range of motion, draws blood.
• Performs technical procedures such as feeding tube and catheter administration, suture/staple removal, splinting and ECGs as ordered.
• Coordinates unit activities and provides clerical and administrative support, participating in performance improvement activities.
