• UT Health Athens is a 127‑bed facility, including a 24‑hour ED, designated as a Level IV trauma center and Level IV stroke center; advanced diagnostic technology; 10‑bed ICU; maternity unit radiation therapy center; and a stand‑alone ED in Gun Barrel City.

• The Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments to cancer patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by the physics department.
• Perform manual calculations.
• Fabricate custom shielding blocks.
• Perform Q.A. checks and warm‑up Linear Accelerators.
• Maintain constant communication with patients and family members to lend support and provide information concerning treatment.
• Responsible for supervising all phases of student clinical rotations.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved school of radiation therapy technology or a school of radiologic technology and a one‑year radiation therapy program.
• Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiation Therapy and licensed by the State of Texas.
