Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree (ADN) or above in nursing
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license
  • 1 year experience in stepdown/progressive, neurology, cardiac, or another medium to high acuity setting preferred
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Strong skills in hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation and other advanced nursing care practices
  • Proficient in electronic medical record systems
Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized care for patients with medium to high acuity needs, closely monitoring vital signs, IV drips and other key indicators
  • Administer medications and implement complex treatment plans, ensuring that medical orders are carried out accurately and promptly
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, case managers and other health care professionals to ensure optimal patient care
  • Educate patients and their families on the management of their acute or chronic conditions, including proper use of equipment such as BiPAP/CPAP, Home Oxygen and vital sign or blood sugar monitors
  • Maintain timely and accurate patient records, adhering to hospital and departmental policies and regulations
