Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical unit with day shifts and travel nursing experience in Texas or compact states.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 36-bed Medical Surgical unit in a hospital setting

• Patient ratio is typically 1:6

• Day shifts are 3x12 hours, from 7:00 to 19:00

• Float to other units as needed is required

• Epic charting system is used; prior experience is preferred but not required

• No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be automatically approved

• No RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation

• Travel pairs and groups are not accepted for this assignment

• First time travelers are allowed if minimum requirements are met
Requirements

• Active TX or compact state RN license required at the time of consideration

• Minimum of 2 years recent Medical Surgical RN experience required

• Prior travel RN experience required

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility and outside specified counties in Texas

• Former permanent staff must have a separation of at least one year before returning as a traveler
